Netflix has a wide variety of movies and shows to keep you entertained, whatever your interest. A recent series of new versions, Cowboy Bebop is an adaptation of a premier Japanese Hanime series. One of the cast in this series is John Cho, and several more of his movies and shows are available on Netflix.

Cho is widely known as “MILF Guy # 2” from american pie films, in which he coined the term MILF. He is also known as Harold Lee in the Harold and Kumar movies, and he played Hikaru Sulu in the Star Trek restart the film series.

But he starred in many other movies and shows during his career. Early in his career he starred in Better luck tomorrow (2002), Buy crocs (1997), and Yellow (1998). Then on the independent film Columbus and then a thriller titled Research, a film in which he became the first Asian American to headline a mainstream thriller.

Cowboy Bebop

The latest feature on Netflix with Cho is Cowboy Bebop. This series is an adaptation of a very popular Japanese animated series of the same name.

This is a science fiction western set in 2071 where Cho plays Spike Spiegel, a bounty hunter with his partners Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir) and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda). They are hired to hunt down the solar system’s most wanted criminals.

The Harold and Kumar movies are sure to make you laugh if you like steamy comedies. A very Harold & Kumar Christmas is available to stream on Netflix.

This is the third part of the Harold and Kumar series of films where Cho reprizes his role of Harold with Kal Penn again playing Kumar. Neil Patrick Harris joins them as a fictionalized version of himself. Friends reunite after escaping Guantanamo Bay in the latest movie. The friends haven’t spoken for two years and believed Harris had died seven years ago.

Wish dragon

The original Netflix animated film Wish dragon follows Din, a working-class student who meets Long, an almighty dragon wishing for a grant. The couple travel through Shanghai on a hilarious quest to find Lina, Din’s childhood friend.

The film stars Jimmy Wong, John Cho, Constance Wu, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Jimmy O. Yang, Aaron Yoo, Will Yun Lee and Ronny Chieng.

American meeting

The fourth film of the american pie franchise, American meeting sees Cho take on her role as “Milf Guy # 2”, but this movie actually gives her a name: John.

This time the class of 1999 comes together to attend their class reunion, which John has scheduled. While some things have changed, most have remained the same within the main group of friends.

Jim, Oz, Kevin, and Finch meet at a bar where Stifler shows up, and things snowball from there. True to what fans love about the american pie sex movies, alcohol, parties, etc., this opus remains true to form.

On the moon

Another original Netflix animated film, On the moon is about an adventurous girl named Fei Fei (Cathy Ang), who builds a rocket so she can prove that a legendary Moon Goddess exists.

During her travels, she discovers a new land of fantastic creatures as she explores the legend of Chang’e (Phillipa Soo), goddess of the moon. Chang’e sacrificed her earthly romance with Houyi so that she could have immortality among the stars.

Cho voices Fei Fei’s father, Ba Ba, and is joined by Ken Jeong, Ruthie Ann Miles, Margaret Cho, and Sandra Oh.

Total recall

The sci-fi movie Total recall is based on the ’90s film of the same name, inspired by a 1966 short story titled We can remember it for you by Philip K. Dick.

Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell) is just an average guy who needs a break from the hustle and bustle of his life. He visits Rekall, a company that boasts of being able to turn dreams into reality. He decides to go through with the procedure, but something goes wrong and he becomes a wanted man.

The film stars Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, Bokeem Woodbine, John Cho and Bill Nighy.
