No kidding, Brian Quinn was “shocked” when Joe Gatto suddenly decided to leave “Impractical Jokers.”

Joe, one of the four mainstays of the hugely popular TruTV show, announced on New Year’s Eve that he was leaving the show due to “some health issues. [his] personal life,” which included separation from his wife, Bessy Gatto.

By appearing on the “Tell Them Steve-Dave” podcast, Brian, better known as “Q”, said: “The only thing I will say as new information is that I was f—— shocked when I found out too. I don’t I didn’t necessarily see that coming. He’s a friend and I won’t go into his personal life, which is clearly where he’s gone to live now. That’s what it is.

Since Joe’s announcement, Q, James “Murr” Murray and Sal Vulcano have returned to work and are filming Season 10 of the comedy show, something that was in limbo for a while.

“Initially we didn’t even know it. We were like, ‘Can we even, is it worth doing it without Joe?'” Q said. “But you look at it and you’re like, ‘ Yeah, [it is], I want to keep doing it. I don’t want not to. If I left the show, I wouldn’t want guys to stop just because I left.'”

Joe, said Brian, is a “comic powerhouse” and admitted there were “negatives” to him no longer being on “Impractical Jokers”.

Midway through the start, the three-headed monster of Q, Murr and Sal had to “accept that this is what it is and give himself permission to have fun”. They are having fun now like in the good old days.

“It’s almost like a new show now. Isn’t it weird? It was so instrumental behind the scenes and it’s just gone now, so it’s like this new void that you can only fill by gone here and there and everywhere,” Q said. “The show, it’s gonna be a little weirder, the show is moving forward. I can have a little more of my s— [in].”
