Drew Barrymore compares the online dating experience to a ‘car accident’
Raya, the highly selective dating app and social media service aimed at glitter, is all the rage with the Hollywood single these days – but not with one qualifying star in particular.
According to Drew Barrymore, not only did she fail to find a romantic partner on Raya, she couldn’t even find a guy to show up on a date.
“I did it terribly,” the 45-year-old confessed during a video visit to “Watch What Happens Live”.
She summed up the experience by saying, “I got up and I wasn’t matching anybody, and my friends gave me this bloated feeling of false confidence. They said, ‘You should try it. You will do very well! ‘”
The reality obviously did not live up to the hype, as it went on to liken it to “a car accident”.
However, unlike a true wreck, Barrymore added that she enjoyed the effort – despite the disappointment.
“I really had fun with it,” said the mother of two. “I’ve always wanted to have a blind date, but my life opposed it. So I thought online dating might satisfy that desire, and… uh… yeah, no. It was a real wake-up call. “

“WWHL” host Andy Cohen wanted to know more about the one who ran away by never showing up in the first place. “Has a celebrity defended you? ” He asked.
“I got harassed by a guy who owned a restaurant,” she said impassively without further details.
While Barrymore declined to name names in regards to her almost-date or any of the other familiar faces she saw on the app, she said she recognized a good chunk of Raya’s dating pool. .
“It was like walking through Us Weekly! She added.
As for the status of her quest for love at the moment, frankly, it’s not really a quest at all. Just last week, during his eponymous new talk show, Barrymore told guest Jane Fonda that she supports the venerable actor’s decision to swear men completely.
“I think I’m here (too) and have been here for five years,” she told Fonda.
The “Never Been Kissed” star married three times and divorced her last husband, Will Kopelman, in 2016. And although she finds love again, she recently told People magazine: “I will never get married. never again!… I will never marry, with a capital NEVER, never.
