Ducks fail against Wisconsin

EUGENE, Oré. – Oregon Men’s Tennis held its own against Wisconsin today, going 5-2.

Oregon changed two of its doubles pairs for today’s game, with Ivailo Keremedchiev join Youssef Kadiri and Luc Vandecasteele teams up with Jesper Klov-Nilsson. Both pairs struggled early to find their grove and eventually dropped out of both matches; Keremedchiev and Kadiri lost 6-4, while L. Vandecasteele and Klov-Nilsson lost 6-1. Q. The Vandecasteele and Charlton game remained unfinished with the Ducks leading 5-4 when Wisconsin won the double point.

All six singles matches looked in play for Oregon, with the first singles win going to Charlton with a 6-2, 6-2 win. From there, the Ducks dropped two more runs to draw 3-1. Quinn Vandecasteele (5-7, 7-5, 6-2) gave the Ducks a well-deserved second point, with no room for error in the game.

The last two games went the distance, but the Badgers would get the deciding point when Luc Vandecasteele lost their match 2-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4. The teams played the unfinished match in singles and the point went to Wisconsin for a final score of 5-2.
