“This grant will benefit the organization by rescuing ten more dogs and accepting ten more veterans into the program. This level of support will allow us to continue our mission by providing not only a service dog and training, but a sense of purpose, developing confidence, and a path to healing unseen wounds. It will save lives. Blue Star Service Dogs screens shelter dogs for inclusion in an in-prison education program, where certified trainers work with incarcerated people to train therapy dogs into certified therapy animals.
