Jimmy Fallon & Nicole Kidman Almost Get Interview With No Residual Embarrassment From Miss

It’s 2021, and Jimmy Fallon and Nicole Kidman still can’t get through an interview without at least winking at perhaps the most embarrassing moment on late-night television: the 2016 interview in which Fallon learned in real time that he had missed a chance to date Kidman a decade earlier. Tuesdays Tonight show, Kidman teleported to promote his show’s season finale Nine Perfect Strangers, and Fallon started asking questions about Kidman’s marriage to Keith Urban.
The first nod to this the interview came about two minutes later, which Fallon said he didn’t like to be surprised. âI will act surprised,â he said. âYeah, we know that,â Kidman said, and Fallon buried his head in a sheet of paper. About three and a half minutes after the interview began, Kidman explained that she was with Urban in Las Vegas, “that’s why I couldn’t be with you, because I chose him.” Then she seemed to understand how it had happened. “Shut up, Nicole,” she said. “I can’t write this – what do we do?” Fallon asked.
There’s nothing like an icebreaker to make things less awkward, and Fallon’s team have chosen a game called The Neverwed Game. âIt’s like The Newlywed Game, where we try to match each other’s responses, but we’ve never even dated,â Fallon said. They did well.
