Legends League Cricket: Teams for Independence Day Special Match

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, a special match between Maharajas of India and Giants of the world of the League of Legends (LLC) Cricket will be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on September 16.

Former Indian captain and current president of the BCCI Sourav Ganguly will lead the Indian Maharajas, while the World Giants will be led by the 2019 World Cup-winning English skipper, Eoin Morgan.

As a proud Indian, it gives me immense satisfaction to share that we have decided to dedicate the league this year to the 75th year of the ‘independence “, said the former India head coach and Legends League tournament commissioner, Ravi ShastriFriday.

The league, which kicks off on September 17, will see 15 games in total where four teams will face off. The league’s first season, with three teams – India Maharajas, World Giants and Asia Lions, was held in Muscat in January this year.
