Village Northwest Unlimited Announces “Generous Giveaway” – KIWARadio.com
Sheldon, Iowa – A local service provider for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and traumatic brain injuries has received what they call a “generous matching donation.”
Village Northwest Unlimited officials in Sheldon tell us the donation is from NIPCO, the Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative through the Northwest Rural Electric Cooperative (REC) employee giving program.
Northwest Iowa REC is a buying partner of NIPCO and through a matching gift program, NIPCO matches donations from Northwest REC employees dollar-for-dollar to benefit local charities like Village Northwest Unlimited.
NIPCO is a power generation and transmission cooperative that supplies wholesale electricity to 7 distribution cooperatives covering 6,500 square miles in western Iowa.
North West REC is a member co-op and provides energy and other valuable services to benefit its members and the communities it serves.
Barry Whitsell, President and CEO, says Village Northwest is grateful to the employees of Northwest REC and its matching donation partner NIPCO for their support and belief in Village Northwest Unlimited’s mission to provide “one purpose, one privacy and dignity for people with disabilities. ” He says that people with disabilities have the same hopes, dreams and aspirations as each of us and “at the Village, we enable people with disabilities to live the fullest possible life despite their situation. Donor partners like Northwest REC and NIPCO make this mission come alive.
